We examine the condition of the brick or stone, identify failing mortar, moisture issues and previous repairs, and determine the correct lime mortar for the building.
2. Careful Joint Preparation
Old mortar is removed by hand using controlled methods to avoid damaging the surrounding masonry. Joints are cleaned, flushed and prepared for new lime mortar.
3. Lime Mortar Application
Breathable, flexible lime mortar is applied in controlled lifts, compacted correctly and finished to match the building’s original appearance and character.
4. Finishing & Protection
Joints are brushed back at the correct stage of curing, and surrounding fabric is protected throughout to ensure a clean, sympathetic finish.
